The cheap, no-KYC option

BitMEX vs KCEX

The number that gets KCEX talked about is 0%. Maker fees at zero, taker at a hundredth of a percent, and a no-KYC allowance measured in whole bitcoin per day. That is genuinely cheap and genuinely low-friction. BitMEX closes on 23 September 2026, and plenty of traders leaving it are chasing exactly that combination. So I ran KCEX through the same field-by-field grid I use for every venue, and two real gaps showed up that you should weigh before you fund an account.

The short version

KCEX is one of the cheapest perp venues going: 0% maker, 0.01% taker, zero withdrawal fees, up to 125x, and no-KYC trading around 15 BTC a day. Two honest caveats keep it off my top spot. It is USDT-margined only, so there are no inverse coin-margined perps like BitMEX ran, and it publishes no public Proof of Reserves. Neither KCEX nor BitMEX serves the US; KCEX does serve the UK. We have no affiliate deal with KCEX, so this is a merit-only read.

Status & Access

KCEX is live and running while BitMEX counts down. It is a much younger platform, and its draw on day one is the same as the top picks': a no-KYC tier you can start trading on right away.

Fees

This is where KCEX wins outright. BitMEX charged a flat 0.05% both sides. KCEX takes nothing from makers and a hundredth of a percent from takers, and it does not charge withdrawal fees on BTC, USDT or ETH.

Products & Contracts

Here is the first real gap. BitMEX invented the inverse perpetual and settled contracts in the coin itself. KCEX, from everything public, runs USDT-margined perps only, so a coin-margined trader loses that instrument entirely.

Liquidity & Scale

BitMEX volume has thinned to a trickle as it winds down. KCEX, by contrast, posts heavy reported futures turnover, though it is fair to read that number alongside the account-freeze complaints covered further down.

Security & Transparency

This is the second real gap, and for a younger exchange it carries weight. BitMEX's record is genuinely strong: no customer funds lost to a hack since 2014, and published reserves. KCEX reports no hacks either, but it publishes no Proof of Reserves I could verify, and its audits cover smart contracts rather than customer holdings.

Figures checked July 2026 from KCEX's own materials, CoinGecko and public data. "Not disclosed" means we could not verify a current figure, not that it is zero. No-KYC and leverage limits are set by the exchange and change often; confirm live on kcex.com. Restricted-country lists shift too, so check your own local law before signing up. Who should switch from BitMEX to KCEX

KCEX fits a specific trader: someone who wants the lowest possible fees on USDT-margined perps, does not need coin-settled contracts, and is fine sizing positions they would not lose sleep over. On cost it beats almost everything, the no-KYC allowance is generous, and withdrawals are free. I hold it below the top picks for two reasons that are not about price at all. It runs no inverse perps, so it cannot replace a BitMEX coin-margined setup, and it publishes no Proof of Reserves, which sits awkwardly next to the recurring Reddit reports of frozen accounts and blocked withdrawals. Weigh that honestly, and keep your own records of every deposit and withdrawal. To be clear, we have no affiliate relationship with KCEX, so this rating is on the merits only. If you want inverse perps and published reserves, our BitMEX vs Blofin breakdown covers the closest full replacement. Prefer another low-fee, high-leverage venue to weigh? Compare BitMEX vs WEEX or, for the widest altcoin menu, BitMEX vs MEXC. All of them sit on our main list of BitMEX alternatives.

Want the pick that fills those gaps?

KCEX is cheap and easy, but if the no-Proof-of-Reserves and no-inverse gaps bother you, our top pick keeps both. Set it up before you withdraw from BitMEX so there is no gap.

BitMEX vs KCEX FAQ

Is KCEX a good replacement for BitMEX?

On cost and easy sign-up, it is hard to beat: 0% maker, 0.01% taker, zero withdrawal fees, up to 125x, and no-KYC trading around 15 BTC a day. The catch is that KCEX is USDT-margined only, so there are no inverse perps like BitMEX ran, and it publishes no public Proof of Reserves. It also restricts US users.

Does KCEX require KYC?

Not to start. You can trade and withdraw without verifying ID, with a no-KYC withdrawal limit reported around 15 BTC per day. Basic verification raises that to roughly 30 BTC a day. Sources vary on the exact figure, so check the current limit on the exchange.

Does KCEX have inverse perps like BitMEX?

No. Public sources show KCEX perpetuals as USDT-margined only. There is no verified inverse or coin-margined contract, which is the biggest product gap for a trader who relied on coin-settled perps.

Can US traders use KCEX?

No. KCEX restricts the US along with Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong and several others. It does serve the UK. Check your own local rules first; this is not legal advice.
